The Barber Shop

Every week, and sometimes more than once a week, our family loves to go the barber shop! Ok, it's not actually a real barber shop, but the place we go is right next to the barber shop. It's actual name is Sweet Temptations. I think you get the hint. Yes, we love to go for sweet treats every week and especially to this cute little place just a hop and a skip away from our house. We have even walked there on occasion. So why do we call it the barber shop? Well, when we first discovered this yummy place last year Paxton noticed it was right next to an old fashioned barber shop, with the pole and everything. And ever since then we just refer to it as the barber shop!

We have made up little songs about it ("Here we go to the barber shop, the barber shop, oh the barber shop to eat ice cream and cake!") And both Paxton and Lorelei (mommy and daddy too) LOVE going there! I like it because they always have a different selection of the MOST delicious cakes and ice cream. The cakes are made by select bakers all around town. Some of our favorites our Cookie Dough Cheesecake (better than the Cheesecake factory!), Coconut Cake, Peanut Butter Pie, and every kind of Chocolate cake you could ever imagine. It's always a surprise as to what they will have each time we go. The kids usually have ice cream, while we adults split a piece of cake. And let me speak of the pieces while I am at it. The slice are HUGE!! They usually don't even fit in a to go box they are so BIG!! That's why we love it!
Another reason we love this place is that the kids can run around in the space outside or inside next to the store. This is so nice, especially for Lorelei because she is our one bite girl. One bite and she is good-man, I wish I had her will power!

Anyway, since this has become a favorite little tradition of ours, we thought we would take some pictures of our outing. Now on this particular evening I must say that the cake selection was poor so we all got ice cream- but it was still good!

This is the display case. Usually there are about 7-8 big cakes to choose from plus all the cookies, pastries, etc.

Daddy, sharing his ice cream with Lorelei. Poor Lorelei, we have NEVER ordered her something on her own, at any restaurant, she would never get the money's worth.
