The Rest

Actually backing up a bit, to day 1 of our trip. The first day we checked into our Pirate themed room at the Caribbean Beach Resort and headed to the Animal Kingdom. By the way the Caribbean Beach Resort is one of Disney's on property resorts and we thought it was really neat. They have pirate themed rooms (you can see the pics below) and an awesome Port Royale which holds several shops, restaurants and best of all an elaborately themed pirate ship pool. Paxton and Lorelei loved this pool with the zero depth entry and tons of perfectly sized water slides for little ones.

Anyway, we went to the Animal Kingdom that first day and headed straight for the Kilimanjaro Safari, along with everybody else that was there! Actually it wasn't horribly crowded the whole time we were there. Definitely lots of people, but they seemed to be spread out. The safari was great and the kids got to see lots of animals. After the safari we got to meet Pocahontas. Lorelei was so excited to see her because she was one of the two Princesses we didn't get to meet last time. She pretended to be holding her in her hand the rest of the day. That girl has some imagination! Oh and I cannot forget the best part of the day when one of the Disney entertainers came up to Lorelei and Paxton with his guitar and made up a song about them right there on the spot. He had a microphone and everything and he did such a great job. I was amazed at how well his song came together about it being Lorelei's birthday and how Paxton was her cool big brother. And yes we did get it on video but I do not know how to download our video camera clips on here. But trust me, it was precious!

We continued on to fabulous Lion King show. A must see in my opinion if you are ever at Disney. Truly a wonderful and entertaining show! We of course had to meet and greet with Minnie (Mickey's line was just a little too long for this mama!). Other attractions that we did were the Dinosaurs ride. Paxton loves this ride! I will not go on it again, it is a very intense and jerky ride, but hey, he loves the thrill! We did most of the attractions there and were able to finish up after the parade around 5:00.

Day 2 was spent at the Magic Kingdom. The kids were already pretty tired from the past 2 days but we pushed on. We hit all the Fantasyland rides first (It's a Small World, Dumbo, Tea Cups, Snow White, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, etc.) and then we headed off to the Buzz Lightyear
ride, one of Paxton 's favorites. After a quick lunch we stood in line to meet the Princesses and this year a new thing at Disney is to meet the Fairies. If you have seen the movie TINK, these are the fairies you get to meet. Although we have seen the movie a couple of times, I think the kids only really knew Tinkerbell and were excited to see her!

Oh, I could go on and on. Paxton's favorite rides of course involve anything moving fast and fearless and Lorelei just loves meeting the characters and the gentler rides. I already blogged about our afternoon at the BBB and Cinderella's Royal Table. We finished the night with two really tired children and a parade. We just couldn't hang on until the 10:00 fireworks show, although Paxton really wanted to! He held on till about 9:30 and fell asleep in my arms. This mama and daddy were pooped too so maybe next time we will make it to the fireworks show! Wow, if you made it through all that, good for you! Enjoy the pics!

Who's ready for a wild safari ride?

We finally meet Pocahontas!

Lorelei was pouting because a car is a "boy" thing and she did not want her picture in front of it!

Mt. Everest Roller Coaster. Paxton is just not quite tall enough to ride this one yet. But being how great Disney was, after they measured him they gave him a fast pass first year rider card that allows him to come back when he is tall enough and go to the front of the line!

A picture of some of the cool "animals" they had at the Animal Kingdom Parade.

Our Pirate ship themed room at the Caribbean Beach Resort. They even had a giant treasure chest that the kids kept climbing in!

Downtown, Disney that is!

Our first night in Disney was spent at Downtown Disney. This is an awesome place to spend your first night while there because normally your theme park tickets will not be active until the next day. Downtown Disney had a great atmosphere and it's free! There is so much for the kids to see and do too. We decided to head to Downtown Disney when we arrived in Orlando. Luckily we were able to walk right up to their new T-REX cafe and eat. It's kind of like the Rainforest Cafe, if you have ever been there, but with a Dinosaur theme. Every 20 minutes or so there is a meteor shower that kills off all the dinosaurs. The kids were a little nervous with this at first but after a while they thought it was pretty cool. They have a build a dinosaur workshop and also a "dig" where you can search for dinosaur fossils.
After a yummy dinner with all the dinos we walked around Disney and saw all the shops and shows. There is a wonderful souvenir shop there too. You can get your shopping out of the way and worry about other things the rest of the trip. Paxton enjoyed the Lego shop again and both kids let loose on the playground there. A little release after being stuck in car seats all day! It was a great way to start our Disney trip and get us in the Disney mood! Check back, more Disney to come!

Lots of photo opportunities here!

So happy to have found her Princess!

Paxton was amazed at this gigantic Tinker Toy. He loves to play with these at Grandmama and Grandaddy's house.
Arrrgh, matey!

A little Lego fun to end the evening!

Happy Birthday Lorelei!

Our little Princess turned 3 on Wednesday! As you can see from the picture we celebrated her 3rd birthday in a very special way! We took the kids down to Disney World this week! It was such a blast! We wanted Lorelei to get to be a "Princess" through and through so we though what place would be better than Disney? We spent her birthday at the Magic Kingdom riding all her favorite rides and of course meeting the Princesses. We also got to meet the fairies from the movie TINK. Anyway, later in the day we took Lorelei to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a Princess makeover. She got to put on her new Aurora dress (the current favorite Princess in our house) and have her hair, makeup and nails done. She has been so excited about this for weeks now! She loved every minute of it! They treated her like a royalty and boy did she look like it! I know I am biased but what a doll!! I am not kidding when I say we had lots of people stop us to ask if they could take her picture after she got done!

Well what birthday would be complete without dinner at Cinderella's castle? Lorelei got to meet Cinderella and the we all had a fabulous dinner with the fairy godmother and the mice. Lorelei was thrilled to meet the fairy godmother, maybe I should have been more excited since that's who I get to "play" at home everyday. To top off the evening we had the host bring out a chocolate glass slipper with a candle in it (I didn't want to have to lug around cake for the rest of the day at Disney, so I needed something special but small!) Lorelei and Paxton ate it up. It was a loooonnng day and this little Princess was pooped by the end of it but as she told me while we rode Cinderella's carousel "This is the best birthday I've ever seen!" We love you Lorelei!
