Spring Celebration

The week before last Paxton has a big program at school called Spring Celebration. This is a looooong tradition at his school as I used to this every year when I went there as well! Anyway, it was fabulous! It involved all of the students in the village (k4-k6) and each class represented a different country of the world. Paxton's class was England, as you can see he was a "Beef Eater" or Buckingham Palace Guard. Each class sang several songs about or from their country and in between songs different children had prerecorded talking about their country. Paxton said, "In England there are Kings and Queens and everybody likes to drink tea." It was so cute!

The music teacher Dr. Hensley is incredible. She taught the kids so many songs, dances, and motions to go with their country. It was just so good- not your typical little kids program at all! I was very impressed and Paxton did wonderful! Other countries represented were Africa, Japan, Germany, Mexico and England (I think that is all?). Everybody did great and I have to give big props to those teachers and the HOURS of practice that I know they did along with all the mommies who made the costumes!

Taking a little break.

Paxton on the "big screen." His prerecorded moment!

Doing a little English jig!
The Noble Duke of York song

All the kids and countries! Aren't they just precious?

The last two songs they sang all together "It's a Small World" and another one that brought tears to my eyes- they sounded so sweet!

Paxton's class outside after the big performance!

Maren (Beckham's little sister) and Lorelei. The first picture is of Paxton and Beckham.

Paxton and his cousin Luke, from Germany!

And now a few bonus pictures from that day. After Paxton's big show we rushed Lorelei over to her school for the Big Easter Party. They played games, made dirt sundaes, planted flowers and of course had an Easter Egg hunt. So here are a few extra pictures from the rest of that crazy day!
Not a fan of the dirt sundae (crushed oreos, chocolate pudding and of course gummy worms). This was the only bite she took!

Super excited to see all the eggs!

What could be inside?

Lorelei's sweet little preschool class- they are so precious!
